Getaround and GoMore: a new chapter for carsharing in Europe

Dear Getaround community,

Today, we’re excited to share an important milestone: Getaround Europe is joining forces with Danish carsharing company GoMore to create the largest peer-to-peer carsharing network in Europe!

Together, we now form a community of more than 5 million users across 11 countries, with over 70,000 shared vehicles and 1.5 million rentals every year. This new scale makes us the undisputed carsharing leader in Europe.

This is a big milestone for us. But more importantly, it’s also great news for you, as it will bring new opportunities on our platform whether you’re an owner, a driver, or both.

A uniquely complementary European footprint

GoMore is the leading carsharing platform across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia, and is also present in Switzerland, Austria, and Spain.

Combined with Getaround's presence in France, Norway, Belgium, Spain, Germany and Austria, the two networks create a strong and complementary footprint across Western Europe and the Nordics.

In practice, this partnership means more cars available in more places for our driver community.

Planning a weekend in Copenhagen, a road trip through the Alps, or a spontaneous drive across the border? The network you can rely on is only getting bigger!

More broadly, this partnership allows us to take carsharing to the next level in Europe. By combining our technologies, expertise, and geographic footprint, we aim to make carsharing more accessible, more seamless, and more relevant wherever you are.

Your app, your experience: nothing changes today

Getaround and GoMore remain two separate platforms. This means you’ll continue using the same app you know, with the same features, the same bookings, and the same support. Nothing changes, and no action is required on your part!

This partnership is first and foremost about bringing our communities together. Over time, we’ll work on creating bridges between Getaround and GoMore to make cross-platform bookings easier and offer an even smoother experience.

Two companies, one shared belief

Getaround and GoMore share a common story as pioneers of peer-to-peer and connected carsharing. For more than 15 years, both companies have built community-driven platforms with one core belief: cars are meant to be shared.

Both have developed keyless technologies that allow users to unlock vehicles with their phone, making the rental experience simple and seamless for both drivers and owners. Together, we strengthen our ability to serve a wide range of mobility needs, from individuals to businesses.

A European success story

Beyond operational synergies, this partnership also reflects a shared ambition: to rethink the role of individual cars in Europe.

As cities become denser, mobility needs evolve, and the cost of car ownership rises, carsharing is emerging as a credible and sustainable alternative. By promoting usage over ownership, we aim to make mobility more accessible while contributing to a more efficient use of vehicles.

With this partnership, Getaround and GoMore form a true pan-European carsharing champion. Built in Europe, for Europeans.

We’re proud of what we’ve built so far, and even more excited about what comes next. None of this would have been possible without you.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

The Getaround team

Will my Getaround account or booking history change?

No. Your account, your history, your saved cars — everything stays exactly as it is. Your getaround platform is not changing.

Can I already rent a GoMore car through Getaround?

Be patient ;) When cross-platform features become available, we'll announce them clearly in advance. Our focus remains on the development of our respective businesses.

Why is Getaround merging with GoMore specifically?

The two companies are highly complementary: Getaround leads in France and Western Europe; GoMore leads across the Nordics and has strong capabilities in long-term rentals. Together, the geographic and product fit is exceptional.

Will this partnership change Getaround’s legal structure or status?

No. Getaround’s European operations, headquartered in Paris, remain unchanged as part of this partnership. France represents close to half of the combined entity’s revenue, and Marie Reboul continues to lead Getaround’s European markets.

How does this partnership strengthen Getaround?

This partnership brings together two profitable and well-established businesses.

By joining forces with GoMore, we are combining complementary networks to build a stronger and more sustainable carsharing platform across Europe.
